Vietnamese Sweet Sour Pork with Water Chestnuts

Ingredients : Serves 4-5

1 lb Pork tenderloin
2 Green peppers
6 Water chestnuts
1 Green onion
1/2 tablespoon Garlic (chopped)
   
Marinade  
1 tablespoon Soy sauce
1 teaspoon Cornstarch
1 teaspoon Wine
1/4 teaspoon Red food color
   
Seasoning  
1 tablespoon Soy sauce
3 tablespoon Sugar
2 tablespoon Vinegar
3 tablespoon Water
1/2 tablespoon Cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Sesame oil
   
6 tablespoons Oil

Preparation:

  • Cut pork into 1 inch x 2 inches, 1/4 inch thick slices, along the grain. Score each slice horizontally and vertically.

  • Marinade with soy sauce, cornstarch, wine, salt and red food color for 10 minutes.

  • Slice water chestnut and green pepper, chop garlic and cut green onion into 1/2 inch sections.

  • Roll pork slices into cylinder style, then deep fry about 1/2 minute or until done.

  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil to saut� garlic and green onion, then add water chestnut and green pepper, finally stirring in the seasoning sauce until cooked through. Add the pork in the sauce and mix well.

  • Serve hot.
